Christopher Hitchens, atheist and author of “God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons
Everything.” spoke Wednesday, March 17th at Miami University to a crowd of mixed faith
and elicited mixed reactions. During his speech, Hitchens was critical of organized religion
in both the western world and abroad and attacked values fundamental to many of those
present in the audience. At the end of his speech, he opened the floor and insisted that he
respond to anyone who wished to ask him something so that he could not later be accused
of dodging difficult questions.
